Rams fall to Roadrunners 4-1

LaGrange, IL (March 21, 2011) - Missed opportunities plagued the Rams this afternoon as they fell to top-ranked Nazareth Academy 4-1.  Reavis (2-1) left 11 baserunners on base and failed to score twice with the bases loaded and less than two outs.

The Rams opened up the scoring when Garret Rhodes led off the second inning with a walk and his pinch-runner, Abe Trevino, advanced to third on Matt Javorski&;s double.  Later in the frame, Rob Rabakozi&;s walk forced in Trevino.

They took the lead into the third inning when Rhodes (1-1), who pitched well in the loss, made his only mistake of the day.  After a walk and base hit, Nazareth&;s All-State shortstop, Barajas, hit a fastball up in the zone for a three-run home run to give the Roadrunners a 3-1 lead.  Rhodes pitched four innings, allowing just those three runs, scattering five hits and keeping the Nazareth hitters off stride all afternoon.  Rob Rabakozi pitched the final two innings allowing no earned runs on two hits.

Reavis battled throughout the game and had an opportunity in the seventh to possibly tie or even take the lead when they loaded the bases with one out, but were unable to push through any runs.
