Bats silenced in loss to Morris

Jacksonville, IL (March 27, 2011) - The Rams travelled to Lenz Field in Jacksonville this week-end to participate in the High School Jamboree Invitational. After their opening game Saturday was cancelled due to inclement weather, Reavis fell to Morris 4-0 on Sunday.

Despite collecting only one hit, a first-inning single by Mike Falbo, the Rams stayed in the game with good defense and a solid outing by starting pitcher Garret Rhodes. The game was scoreless until the Redhawks put up four runs in the sixth inning on a walk and three hits, including a two-run home run over the left field wall.

"I lost a little of my focus in the sixth inning," said Rhodes, "and bad things can happen when you aren&;t 100% locked in. It was a tough loss, but we need to move on to Monday and bounce back against another tough team in Lyons Township."

In the JV game against Vernon Hills, Christian Flores&;s two hits and game-winning run propelled Reavis to a 4-3 win. Starting pitcher Josh Arnold pitched two scoreless innings and Cameron Koepke picked up the victory in relief.
