Lyons Township tops Rams 9-6

Burbank, IL (March 28, 2011) - Top-ranked Lyons Township scored early at Czarnecki Field and held on to beat the Rams 9-6 this afternoon.  The Lions scored seven unanswered runs off starter Zack Mackowiak in the first four innings of the ball game before the Reavis offense got warmed up.

In the bottom of the fourth frame, the Rams, sparked by Rob Rabakozi&;s two-run double, scored four runs to cut the Lions&; lead to three.  After Lyons added two more runs in the fifth inning, Brandon Hines answered with a home run to left field, the first round-tripper for the Rams this season.

Reavis threatened again in the seventh inning when they brought the tying run to the plate in Hines, but the senior grounded out to end the game.  The Rams, who now fall to 2-3 on the season, will play St. Rita at Czarnecki Field on Thursday.
