Burbank, IL (April 2, 2011) - Lincoln Way East pounded out 14 hits Saturday en route to a 12-2 win over the Rams at Czarnecki Field. After scoring two unearned runs in the second inning off starter Josh Arnold (0-1), the Griffins plated six more in the third and three in the fifth off relievers Alex Lutvi and Mike Sliwinski.
"We didn't pitch well today," said Coach Don Erickson, "but the season is young and I have confidence our staff will bounce back next week."
The Rams (3-4) scored both their runs in the bottom of the second inning when Jake Stano led off with a home run into the right field bullpen and David Beltran scored on Garret Rhodes' fielder's choice.
Reavis begins conference play on Monday against Argo at Czarnecki Field.
