Burbank, IL (April 4, 2011) - Congratulations to senior catcher/pitcher Rob Rabakozi for being named the Most Valuable Player of "Bronze Glove Classic-the Battle of 77th Street", which is the annual rivalry game between St. Rita and Reavis.
Rabakozi went 1 for 2 with two walks offensively and played great defense behind the plate. He also pitched a scoreless seventh inning allowing no runs and striking out two Mustangs, including the final batter with a runner on third base to preserve the Rams' 7-6 victory.
This is only the third time in the 14-year history of the "Battle for 77th Street" that a Reavis player has garnered MVP honors. Justin Blizniak won the award in 1998 and Mario Urquizo earned the accolade in 2000.
