Rams pull off miracle win against Lemont

Burbank, IL (April 12, 2011) - The Rams scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat University of Illinois-bound Josh Ferry and the Lemont Indians 6-5 this afternoon at Czarnecki Field.

"In 20 years of coaching, I would have to say this was the most amazing come-from-behind win I have ever been part of," said Coach Erickson.  "To put up six runs on a guy like Ferry, who hits the radar gun at 90 mph and just threw a perfect game against Minooka, was unbelievable!"

The bottom of the seventh inning started off with three straight hard ground ball hits by Jake Stano, David Beltran, and Garret Rhodes.  After Christian Flores walked, Alex Morales hit a 2 RBI double over the centerfielder&;s head to score Beltran and Rhodes and cut the lead to 5-3.  Matt Javorski then singled to right field plating Flores and Morales.  Javorski moved to second on the throw to the plate and later advanced to third on a wild pitch.

With Javorski on third base and no outs, Ferry retired both Rob Rabakozi and Brandon Hines on ground ball outs.  Cameron Koepke&;s RBI single down the right field line, however, scored Javorski and secured the win for the Rams, who moved their over-all record to 6-6 and their conference mark to 3-1.

"In baseball, it ain&;t over &;til it&;s over," said Coach Czarnecki, "and we sure proved that today!"

Garret Rhodes pitched well, going six innings and allowing only one earned run on four hits.  Junior Anthony Doory pitched a perfect seventh inning and picked up his first career varsity win.

Reavis plays Tinley Park on Thursday at Czarnecki Field.
