Arnold, Rams shut down the Titans

Burbank, IL (April 14, 2011) - The baseball adage that good pitching always beats good hitting certainly rang true this afternoon as junior hurler Josh Arnold and the Rams beat Tinley Park 7-1.

"Josh looked really sharp today," said Coach Erickson.  "He had great command of both his fast ball and curve ball, and I was pleased with how he seemed to get stronger as the game progressed."

Arnold retired the final 13 Tinley Park hitters in a row to wrap up his second consecutive complete game victory of the season.  A great defensive effort by his teammates, including two diving assists from second baseman Brandon Hines, helped Arnold make quick work of Titans.

Offensively, Reavis scored six runs in the fourth inning on hits by Garret Rhodes, Mike Falbo (3 for 3; RBI), and Rob Rabakozi (2B; 2 RBI).  The Rams were also helped by two costly Titan errors that led to three unearned runs.

The win moves the Rams&; over-all record to 7-6 and keeps them in first place in the SSC Red with a 4-1 mark.

Reavis plays Eisenhower on Monday.
