Offense heats up in the cold

Burbank, IL (April 20, 2011) - After four straight days of rain, the Reavis hitters were chomping at the bit to finally get some swings in a real game.  The offense didn&;t disappoint, as the Rams (8-6; 5-1) pounded out 12 hits in the 12-1 victory against Eisenhower at Czarnecki Field today.

The  In a truly balanced offensive attack, every Reavis starter collected at least one hit and the Rams scored in every inning of the game.  The Rams plated four runs in the first three innings with key hits from Matt Javorski (2 for 3; 2B), Cameron Koepke (2B; 2 RBI), Rob Rabakozi (2 for 3; 2 2B; 3 RBI), and Jake Stano (2 for 4; 2B; HR; 4 RBI).

It was the two-out, four-run rally in the fourth frame, however, that broke the game open.  After David Beltran and Javorski made two quick outs, Mike Falbo reached on an infield single and Rabakozi doubled him home.  Brandon Hines then walked and Jake Stano hit a three-run home run over the wall in left-center.

Beltran added a home run in the fifth inning.

Senior Garret Rhodes picked up his team-leading third victory on the mound, scattering four hits and striking out three Cardinal hitters.

The Rams take on the Oak Forest Bengals tomorrow in Oak Forest.
