Burbank, IL (May 1, 2011) - The Reavis baseball program hosted its annual alumni game this Sunday and over 30 former players showed up to participate in the game.
The Old-Timers held the lead for most of the game with good outings on the mound by starter Kylie O'Leary (1980) and relievers Bob Morack (1996), and Erik Scheiner.
However, trailing 5-1 in the eighth inning, Young Gun captain Kyle Mueller (2004) hit a three-run home run off reliever Dick Canan (1982) to cut the Old-Timers' lead to one run. Mueller, who also pitched two scoreless innings and struck out six Old-Timers, was named MVP of the game.
Nursing a 5-4 lead in the ninth inning, the Old-Timers sent Jeff Kunz (1996) to the mound, who walked two and hit one batter. Reliever Don Erickson added fuel to the fire by hitting Matt Mueller (2006) and allowing a two RBI single to Adam Boyer (2008).
