Chargers edge Reavis 3-2

Palos Hills, IL (March 20, 2012) - The Rams&; offense was stifled Tuesday in their 3-2 loss to Stagg High School.  Reavis hitters could muster just four hits on the day and struck out seven times.  "Stagg&;s pitcher changed speeds well all game," said Coach Erickson, "and he really kept our hitters off-balance."

Senior pitcher Anthony Doory, who didn&;t have his best stuff on the mound, was still able to keep the Rams in the game.  He went 5.1 innings, allowing three runs on six hits, while striking out five Chargers.

Despite a dearth of hitting, Reavis tied the game 1-1 in the fourth inning when Jake Stano doubled and eventually scored on Doory&;s fielder&;s choice, and they took a 2-1 lead in the top of the sixth when David Beltran scored on a passed ball.

However, Stagg scored twice in the bottom of the frame and shut down the Ram offense in the seventh inning to preserve the 3-2 victory.

The Rams&; next game is Thursday against St. Laurence at Czarnecki Field.
