Reavis comes from behind to beat Argo 6-4

Summit, IL (April 2, 2012) - The Rams improved their SSC record to 2-0 on the season with a come-from-behind victory over the Argonauts on Monday.

Senior pitchers Zack Mackowiak and Argo&;s Ashley blanked the offenses through the first three innings.  The Argonauts struck first in the bottom of the fourth inning, however, when Krob hit a two-run home run over the left field wall off Mackowiak to give Argo a 2-0 lead.

The Ram offense finally got going in the fifth when Tom Pindelski (2 for 3; SB) led off with a bunt single and advanced to third on Mike Lally&;s double.  Dave Beltran singled home Pindelski and Jake Stano walked to load the bases.  Joe O&;Hara&;s 2 RBI single finished off the four-run inning for the Rams.

Argo scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to knot the score at 4-4.

In the sixth inning, Pindelski singled, stole second and scored on another double by Lally (3 for 4; 2 2B; RBI).  "Mike had a great game at the plate and defensively at third base," said Coach Erickson.  "It was also a real plus to get that kind of production from Pindelski in the nine spot of the batting order."

The Rams added an insurance run in the seventh on a two-strike bunt from John Deir that scored Joe O&;Hara.

Mackowiak settled down in the late innings and threw scoreless six and seventh innings to capture his second victory of the season.  He went the distance, giving up two earned runs on seven hits, while striking out four and walking one.

Reavis (4-6; 2-0) takes on Argo on Tuesday at Czarnecki Field.
