Baseball sweeps Argo in a big way

Burbank, IL (April 4, 2012) - The Rams (5-6; 3-0) slugged out 12 hits in their 15-1 victory over Argo on Tuesday at Czarnecki Field.  The offense exploded for ten runs in the first inning on RBI doubles by both Dan Meskill (2 for 3; 2B; 2 RBI) and Leo Hernandez (2 for 3; 2B; RBI) and a bases-clearing triple from David Beltran (3 for 3; 3B; 4 RBI).

"Before the game, Coach Morack told the team jokingly to put up a ten spot on the scoreboard in the first inning, and amazingly, the kids did!" said Coach Erickson.  "We swung the bats really well today.  It was a tough day to hit with the wind blowing in, but we hit a lot of line drives and hard ground balls up the middle throughout the game."

Josh Arnold (3-1) picked up the win on the mound, going the distance and allowed no earned runs on five hits.

After the game, the team took a trip to the University of Illinois-Chicago to see the Flames take on Indiana State University.  "Many of our kids love baseball, and it was a great experience for them to see how the game is played at the next level.  We have another trip like this planned for Notre Dame in May."

Reavis takes on TF South Thursday in Lansing.
