Midlothian, IL (April 17, 2012) - The Rams gave up three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and lost to Eisenhower 5-4 on Tuesday.
Reavis (6-13; 4-3) trailed 2-1 in the sixth inning, but scored three times in the frame on a hit by Jake Stano, four walks, and a hits batsman to take a 4-2 lead. However, in the seventh inning the Cardinals rallied off of reliever Zack Mackowiak when they collected back-to-back two-out hits to tie the game and win it, respectively.
"Eisenhower had a great comeback today, but we shouldn't even have been in a situation to have to hold on in the seventh inning. We didn't do much well today," said Coach Erickson. "We made way too many fly ball outs and played poor defense. Today was a big game to lose and we certainly need to play better if we expect to win tomorrow against a good Rich Central team."
