Cardinals top Rams in Seventh

Midlothian, IL (April 17, 2012) - The Rams gave up three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and lost to Eisenhower 5-4 on Tuesday.

Reavis (6-13; 4-3) trailed 2-1 in the sixth inning, but scored three times in the frame on a hit by Jake Stano, four walks, and a hits batsman to take a 4-2 lead.  However, in the seventh inning the Cardinals rallied off of reliever Zack Mackowiak when they collected back-to-back two-out hits to tie the game and win it, respectively.

"Eisenhower had a great comeback today, but we shouldn&;t even have been in a situation to have to hold on in the seventh inning.  We didn&;t do much well today," said Coach Erickson.  "We made way too many fly ball outs and played poor defense.  Today was a big game to lose and we certainly need to play better if we expect to win tomorrow against a good Rich Central team."
