Stano throws gem against Bolingbrook

Bolingbrook, IL (April 21, 2012) - Senior Jake Stano struck out a season-high 10 batters en route to his 4-1 victory over Bolingbrook on Saturday.  Stano (1-0) threw a complete game, allowing one earned run on six hits.  It is only his second start on the mound this season as he has had arm troubles since his junior year.  "Jake threw extremely well today," said Coach Erickson.  "In his last start against Eisenhower, he had trouble locating his pitches, especially his off-speed stuff.  However, today Jake had command of all three of his pitches and kept the hitters off-balance throughout the game."

Stano had help behind him as well today.  For the first time in 22 games this season the Rams&; defense played errorless baseball.

While the Reavis offense wasn&;t especially potent, they made the most of their six hits.  The Rams scored all four of their runs on two-out RBI hits.  They scored one run each in the first, third, fourth, and fifth innings on RBI singles by David Beltran, Stano, Matt Javorski, and Anthony Doory, respectively.

"Considering the great outing from Stano, the error-free game we played in the field, and our timely hitting, this is the best game we have played thus far in the season.  Hopefully, we can keep this type of play going."
