Rams regroup to split series with Astros

Burbank, IL (April 25, 2012) - After suffering a tough 4-3 loss to Shepard on Monday, a determined Reavis squad came back Tuesday with a convincing 11-4 victory to split the two-game series with the Astros .

Reavis scored two runs in the first inning when Joe O&;Hara&;s double plated both Richie Velez and Dave Beltran.  The score remained close early in the game, however, until the Rams&; offense got heated up in the fourth and fifth innings.  Stano&;s RBI triple and Mike Lally&;s two-out two RBI single pushed the Reavis lead to 7-3 in the fourth inning.  In the following frame, a pair of two-run home runs by Matt Javorski and Beltran extended the lead to 11-3.

Senior Zack Mackowiak picked up his second win of the season, going 4.2 innings and allowing two earned runs on seven hits and four strike outs.  Both Jake Stano (0.1 IP; 0 H; 0 ER) and Josh Arnold (2 IP; 2 H; 1 ER) pitched in relief.

Thursday, the Rams (9-15) take on Lincoln Way North at Czarnecki Field.
