Rams Make Quick Work of Greyhounds

Burbank, IL (March 26, 2013) - The Rams improved their record to 2-0 on the young season with a 13-0 victory over Hubbard Tuesday afternoon.

The bats got going early on, as Reavis scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning on six hits, including back-to-back-to-back doubles by Richie Velez (2 for 3; 2 2B; 2 RBI), Dan Meskill, and Joe O'Hara (2 for 3; RBI).  Mike Lally (3 for 3; 2 R) and Matt Barajas (pictured) also paced the offense with multiple hit games.  "I was very pleased with how we swung the bats today," said hitting coach, Dick Canan.  "We didn't try to do too much and did a good job hitting the ball where it was pitched."

A trio of Reavis pitchers, Belal Abuzir (1-0), Meskill, and Edgar Sanchez, combined to shut out the Greyhounds, allowing one hit and striking out eight batters over five innings.

The Rams take on St. Rita at Czarnecki Field on Wednesday, March 27.
