Charleston, SC (April 1, 2013) - Despite a solid performance from left-hander Jose Romero, the Rams fell to West Ashley, SC 5-0 in the first round of the H.I.T. Tournament.
Romero stuggled early on, walking the first three hitters of the game, but got out of the inning giving up only one run. He settled in the rest of the game, allowing only one hit and striking out seven in 5.1 innings of work. "It was a tough loss for Jose," said Coach Erickson. "He pitched well enough to win, but we were unable to get any offense going."
The Rams (3-3) could muster only two hits (John Deir and Mike Lally) and Reavis runners reached third base only once all game.
Reavis plays again at West Ashley High School at 5:00 on Tuesday.
