Rams' Bats Come Alive Against Bulldogs

Oak Lawn, IL (April 26, 2013) - Reavis hitters had been in a funk all week, getting blanked by Richards 10-0 on Monday and dropping a game to Bremen 3-1 on Thursday.  In those two games combined, they could only muster eight hits in thirteen innings.  That all changed Friday as the Rams pounded out 19 hits in their 12-4 victory over Richards.

"We have really been struggling at the plate recently," said Coach Erickson, "but we picked a great time to break out of our slump against a good Richards team that beat us up bad earlier in the week."  Eight Reavis batters hit safely, including six Rams who had multi-hit games: Matt Kopp (4 for 4), Richie Velez (3 for 4; 2 RBI), Mike Lally (3 for 4; 3 RBI), Jake Aguilar (3 for 4; 3 RBI), Jose Romero (2 for 5; RBI) and Dan Meskill (2 for 4; RBI).

"I was especially happy for Kopp.  This was his first Varsity start and he had a great game.  He really sparked the team," Erickson commented.

Romero picked up his third win on the mound, going the distance and allowing four earned runs on five hits and seven strike-outs.

Saturday the Rams (12-6; 6-3) travel to Evergreen Park to take on the Mustangs.
