Meskill's walk off secures win over Titans

Burbank, IL (May 2, 2013) - The Rams (13-9; 7-4) came from behind again Thursday, scoring two runs in the fifth inning and one more in the final frame to defeat Tinley Park 4-3 at Czarnecki Field.

"We have played in a bunch of close games where we have had our backs against the wall," said Coach Erickson, "and they always seem to repond well.  These kids refuse to give up."

The game was tied at three in the bottom of the seventh when Matt Kopp led off with a double over the center fielder's head.  David Solus came into the game to run for Kopp and Jorge Hernandez reached base when he was hit by a pitch.  Richie Velez then moved the runners over with his sacrifice bunt and Joe O'Hara loaded the bases when he was intentionally walked, setting the table for Dan Meskill.

Meskill deposited a 1-1 pitch into right field for a walk off game-winning single.  "I'm glad Danny came through like he did today.  He had a hard luck at-bat in a similar situation earlier in the year, but he is a clutch player and he showed it big today!"

Belal Abuzir picked up his fourth win of the year on the mound, allowing no earned runs on nine hits and nine strike outs.
