Burbank, IL (November 26, 2010) - The boys' basketball team capped off a perfect Thanksgiving Tournament by beating Addison Trail 56-40 in the championship game. "I'm not sure which team had the most talent in this tournament," said head coach Jeff Smith, "but we were the tougher team in all three of our games."
That toughness showed in tonight's game. The Rams (3-0) were only up three points in the middle of the fourth quarter, but went on a 13-0 run to finish off the game with tough defense and timely shooting. Tournament MVP Mike Jerkovich, who averaged 18.7 ppg in three games, led all scorers with 16 and Taha Ghouleh chipped in eleven for Reavis. "We really played as a team down the stretch," said Jerkovich, "and we got it done as a team."
The following players were voted by the coaches to the all-tournament team: Anthony Gill (Reavis), Armin Trgo (Addison Trail), Tyler Horvath (Addison Trail), Darrell Townes (Little Village), and Damian Surma (Kennedy).
In the third place game, Little Village beat Kennedy 80-64.
