Summer Happenings - Week 3

Burbank, IL (June 16, 2011) –

The Reavis Rams finished up their last week of camp.  The girls continued to work hard on individual skills and fine tuning their plays.  They received a packet that provides workouts that they will continue to do throughout the summer.

In summer games this week…

The Varsity Rams played three games at the Shepard Summer League.  Tuesday they played Tinley Park.  The Rams started out slow and were down by 10 within the first 4 minutes, but kicked it into gear and held the Titans scoreless for the next 16 minutes to tie it at the half.  They led most of the second half, but bad decisions in the last few minutes cost them the game. “The girls will learn from this and can only get better,” said Coach Miskowicz of the loss.  On Wednesday they took on an offensively minded, Chicago Christian, and got down early and just could not get back but battle until the end.  Then to finish up the week, the Rams took on Queen of Peace on Thursday. “We came out flat and did not rebound well, so it really put us down at the beginning,” said Coach Gamino.

The Sophomore Rams started the week at the Richards Shootout on Tuesday.  They played host Richards first and then took on south suburban neighbor, Oak Lawn. Coach Burzic said, “The girls played great defensively, but need to take care of the basketball offensively.  We are meshing well, but need to see the court better.”  On Wednesday the Sophs were at the Argo Summer League.  They took on a sharp-shooting Mother McAuley team and just could not find a rhythm.
