Summer Happenings - Week 4

Burbank, IL (June 23, 2011) –

The Reavis Rams hosted camp for the community’s 5th-9th grade girls.  Seniors Kristina Antol, Yasmine Ballout, Hannah Howard, and Nat Skolarus helped teach the young girls fundamental skills and coached several teams this week.  Reavis also continued league play at both the Sophomore and Varsity levels this week.

The Varsity Rams played their final two games at the Shepard Summer League this week.  Tuesday they played Oak Lawn.  The Rams handled the Spartan pressure well, but could not get their shots to fall and ended up losing.  Defensively, Reavis had great rotation but at times were slow coming out. Coach Miskowicz said, “The girls were trying out a new press breaker and for not practicing it  and just seeing it on the board they did well.  Offensively we need to do a better job of seeing the court.”  On Thursday they played the Bremen Braves and went on to win their last game of the Shepard Summer League.  Assistant Coach Gamino said, “We came out sloppy and it cost us early, but we had a nice second half to make up for it.”  The Rams were sparked in the second half by senior, Yasmine Ballout’s shooting.  Also senior, Kristina Antol picked up the pressure defensively and forced a couple of turnovers that converted into points.

The Sophomore Rams played on Wednesday at the Argo Summer League against Morton. They just could not pull off a victory.  Coach Burzic said, “The game was sloppy on both ends, but I am seeing improvements with every game we play.”
