Rams Honor Five Seniors

The Varsity Rams (6-19; 2-11) played their final home game of the season against Richards.  The girls played hard, but it just was not enough to overcome the Bulldogs.  The Rams were led by Stephanie Verduzco (10 pts/11 rebs) and Nat Skolarus (9 pts/4 rebs).

Despite the loss, the night was filled with excitement as Reavis honored its five senior players: Kristina Antol, Yasmine Ballout, Hannah Howard, Colleen Gallagher, and Nat Skolarus.   Each has given their dedication to the program for four years and have made hundreds of memories.

Kristina AntolGuard, has been a Varsity player for 3 years and is always smiling.  She is a great team player who is constantly cheering her teammates on. Krys’ best memory was when her favorite athlete, Jenny LoRusso, ate a super gross banana for the SECOND time! Teammate Gabi Wallace loved whenever Krys messed up she would always yell “KRISTINA!”

Colleen Gallagher, Guard, or as her teammates call her Cai, Shanghai, Caillou.  Cai is a two year Varsity player.  Cai is one of the team’s favorite players.  She is always bringing smiles to everyone’s face.  Coach Burzic loves Cai’s ridiculously high pony tail.  Her favorite memory is spending every day with Gabi and Yasmine.  She loves Yasmine, BUT actually loves Krys more.

Yasmine Ballout, Guard, has been on Varsity for two years.  Her confidence and strong will picks up the team.  Teammate Chanel Koepke will miss Yasmine screaming “YEAH!” at practice and helping on the court.  Yasmine’s best memory was going to get food with the team before every game and building lovely relationships with my teammates.

Hannah Howard, Guard, aka Zoey Appleby, has been on Varsity for 2 years.  Hannah is a great big ball of energy that is always wanting to do things the right way.  Hannah’s favorite memory was watching Coach B tap dance.  Teammate Donna Mierwa will always remember Hannah jumping around when she dribbled or played defense, she’s just so bouncy.

Nat Skolarus, Guard, has been a Varsity player for 3 years.  She has definitely developed into a team leader this year.  Coach M says that she will miss Nat’s very long-winded stories where there is constant “and this happened” and  “you know what I’m saying”.  Nat’s favorite memory was building strong friendships with her teammates and improving as a shooter.

Sophs (9-16; 5-9) went back and forth with the Bulldogs, but just could not pull it off in the final minute of play.

Frosh finished up their season on a winning note against Richards, 45-23 .  The girls came out to an early lead and never looked back.  The Rams finished the season 19-2 and 12-1 in conference play.  Congratulations goes out to Kimmy Baffin, Ewelina Kmin, Katelyn LoRusso, Ashley Galason, Marisol Arrendondo, Hope Stepuncik, CC Galvan, Ezzy Cardoso, Angelica Nunez, Nikki Negrete, Gabby Plewa, Ewelina Cudzich, Sajeda Razick, Holly Javorski, Su Su Almousa, Ericka Garza, Vikki Paczkowska, Katie Zimmerman, and Azizah Zayed.
