Rams Take 2nd at Warrior Invite

New Lenox, IL (April 18 & 19)- The Rams (7-6, 4-2) went 2-1 in the Warrior Invite to take 2nd place!  After losing a hard-fought opening game to host Lincoln-Way West, the Rams came out ready to play on Saturday.  With two back-to-back games on Saturday the team knew that they had a tough road ahead.  Reavis started the day with playing conference rival Oak Forest.  Celeste Lara had the lone goal of the match off of a pass from Alexis Delgado with 10 minutes left in the first half.  That was all that was needed for the win as Makayla Spielman earned the shutout with 8 saves in goal.

A fatigued Reavis squad started the second game against Crete-Monee just 15 minutes following their first game.  The Warriors took advantage of the situation by going up 2-0 in the first half.  After regrouping at halftime, the Rams got on the board 6 minutes into the second half with a well-placed shot by Celeste Lara after intercepting an attempted clear from a Crete-Monee defender.  Vicky Paczkowska scored 6 minutes later with a long ball 40 yards out that sailed over the keeper to tie the game 2-2.  The warriors pulled ahead with a goal with just over 6 minutes remaining in the game.  The Rams kept the pressure up for the remainder of the game, and with 18 seconds left Celeste Lara drilled a free kick past the Warriors’ goalie to tie the game.  The game went directly into penalty kicks where Makayla Spielman held strong turning away 4 Crete-Monee shots en route to the 4-3 victory after 8 shooters!  Scoring for Reavis in the shootout was: Ewelina Kmin, Alexis Delgado, Edith Benitez, Patricia Rzadkosz, and Stephanie Solis.
