Rams Use 5-Run 1st to Pace Victory

Tinley Park, IL- (3/28/11)- Reavis plated five runs in the top of the first inning at Tinley Park on Monday on their way to a 9-0 conference win over the Titans.  The Rams took advantage of 3 walks and an illegal pitch by the Tinley pitcher to score the first run, resulting in the pitcher being removed. They welcomed the new pitcher by knocking in four more befroe the inning was over. The Rams added one more in the second inning, and three in the seventh to complete the scoring.

Ally Balandis, the freshman phenom, ended the day going 2-for-3, including a triple and two runs scored. Sarah Saunders knocked in two while going 2-for-4 with a double and scoring twice, while her twin sister Sam also knocked in a pair on a double down the left field line. The Rams played nearly mistake-free on defense, while Caitlyn Balandis overcame the cold air to punch out 13 Titans against only four hits and a most impressive zero walks.

The win moved the Rams to 3-0 in the SSC Red.
