Burbank, IL (March, 31, 2011)- All-State Oak Forest pitcher Emily Norton outdueled All-State Reavis pitcher Caitlyn Balandis Thursday, 3-0. Balandis (5-2) pitched an incredible game, recording 10 strikeouts while only walking one, but Norton proved to be too much for the Rams offense to handle. Amanda Raschke had the Rams lone hit on a bunt single in the sixth, and Balandis walked twice as the only other Ram to reach base. "They (Oak Forest) had a clear game plan and executed it perfectly. The pitched around Caitlyn and dared someone else to bet them. Norton was pitching so well, we just coouldn't break through against her, " stated Coach Jim Meskill after the tough loss.
