Burbank, IL (April 9, 2011)- Reavis dropped a tough one to #3 Stagg on Saturday, losing 3-2. The Rams led 1-0 for most of the game, scoring in the 1st inning on a 2-out RBI single by Sarah Saunders plating Ally Balandis (single). The Chargers finally broke through with 3 runs in the 5th ining to seize control of the game; however, the fiesty Rams battled hard, scoring one in the sixth on an RBI single by Meghan Higgins, again plating Ally Balandis (single). Reavis left the tying run stranded on third in the sixth and stranded another on second in the seveth inning to drop the nail-biter.
Meghan Higgins (3-2) threw extremely well for the Rams in the circle. She pitched out of jams in the second, third fourth and fifith innings allowed just the 3 runs in the fateful fifth. The only walk she surrendered was an intentional pass to the dangerous hitting shortstop, Faith Johnson, of Stagg. The Rams fell to 9-4 on the year.
