Rams Nip Conference Foe Shepard

Burbank, IL (May, 2, 2011) - The Rams got a big hit at the right moment and used good pitching and solid defense to secure a victory over the visiting Astros from Shepard.  The win brought Reavis&;s record to 12-2 in the South Suburban Red (14-6 overall). The Rams hit the ball well all day, but could not get the clutch hit needed to pull away from the pesky Astros. Finally, in the bottom of the fourth inning, Sam Saunders connected on a two-out, two-run single to put Reavis in front. The drive scored Kayla Mangiapane (single) and Ally Balandis (single).

Caitlyn Balandis, along with a solid defensive performance by her teammates, would make sure the two runs were enough. Balandis only surrendered two hits while striking out eleven. The win pushed Balandis&;s record to 10-3 on the season.
