The Reavis athletic department would like to congratulate 2011 graduate and current University of St. Francis softball player Caitlyn Balandis for being named NAIA Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Finishing the week with 19 strikeouts and three earned runs, Balandis went 2-0 on the week. She was a part of a 9-0 shutout over Calumet College and then had a career-game vs. Judson. In the win over Calumet, she had four strikeouts and did not give up any earned runs. She then helped St. Francis secure a spot in the CCAC Tournament with 15 strikeouts, a career-high, vs. Judson in an 8-3 win. She only walked two batters vs. Judson and earned the complete game win. She finished the week with a 1.91 ERA.
Caitlyn's younger sister Ally currently plays for the Rams' varsity squad.
