Girls Track and Field Starts February 24th

February, 21, 2014. ( Burbank, IL) The season is beginning. Who will be All-Conference? Who will break SSC records? Who will MAKE IT TO STATE! Let's continue the sportsmanship and hard work this season as we begin Monday--February 24th. We will meet at the patio at 3:15. Be ready to run outside or inside, so bring clothes for both. Have a good pair of running shoes! See Coach Schoenfeld in room 106 with any questions.  Have a current physical Monday when we show up ready to practice.

STATE BOUND - GAL, MELLENTHIN, GRZYCH

Lagrange, IL  (May 10, 2013).  STATE BOUND!  Congrats to Junior Paulina Gal (1st in discus and 2nd in the 300m hurdles), Junior Mackenzie Mellenthin (2nd in the discus), and Senior Kelley Grzych (tied for 3rd in the high jump) who are all traveling to Eastern Illinois University to participate in the IHSA State Finals.  Mackenzie was leading the discus up to the last

Girls Track and Field finish SECOND at conference, while also receiving its 3rd straight Sportsmanship award!

Blue Island, IL  (May 1, 2013).  Congrats to the team for earning its 3rd straight Sportsmanship Award!  The Varsity team also finished an incredible 2nd place finish at the SSC Red Division Conference meet, earning over 115 points in the meet.  All-Conference honors goes out to junior Paulina Gal in both the shot put and discus, as she won both of them.  Paulina also earned a new SSC Red Division record in the discus with a 123 foot, 7 inch throw.  Paulina also got 2nd in the 800m and 3rd in the 300m hurdles, earning her an incredible 34 points overall for the meet.  All-C

51st Reavis Relays ends successfully with a SECOND place finish

Burbank, IL  (April 25, 2013).  At the 51st annual Reavis Relays last night, the girls team did a fantastic job, as they finished 2nd place overall out of 9 teams.  This is one of the highest finish in about 15 years.  YES---2nd place!  The meet started on a high note by honoring our seniors: Sam Christianson, Kelley Grzych, Nicole Maier, Emily Phillips, Ashlie Wiechec, and Maggie Wojtowicz and their wonderful parents.  The 3x100m hurdles race of Amanda Kass, Ashlie Wiechec, and Kelley Grzych

New BEST RECORD EVER achieved (8-3) by Girls Track and Field team last night at TFN

Calumet City, IL  (April 22, 2013).  Congrats to the girls track and field who improved their record to 8-3 Monday night at T F North, which is a NEW SEASON BEST RECORD. The girls scored in 15 events out of 17 events, which is a huge accomplishment. Paulina Gal again scored in all four of her events with a 1st in the shot put, 1st in the 300m hurdles, 3rd in the discus, and 5th in the long jump. Nicole Maier finished 1st in the 3200m and 4th in the 1600m. Michele Lewellen finished 1st in the 800m.

Girls improve to 6-2 with plenty of first place finishes

Burbank, IL  (April 16, 2013).  The girls beat Evergreen Park and Oak Forest last night in both the Varsity and Frosh/Soph levels.  Junior Paulina Gal finished 1st in the 800m, 1st in the 300m hurdles, 1st in the shot put, and 1st in the discus.  Ashlie Wiechec finished 1st in the 100m hurdles, 2nd in the triple jump, and 2nd in the long jump.  Sabina Bukowska finished 1st in the 1600m and 4th in the 3200m.  Susu Almousa finished 2nd in the 3200m and 2nd in the 1600m.  Amanda Kass finished 2nd in the 100m hurdles.  Sylvia Kozielski finished 2nd in the 100m, 3rd in the tripl

Rams "making a statement" at the Argo Invite

Summit, IL  (April 13, 2013).  The girls finished 6th out twelve teams at the Argo Invite Saturday on another cold and windy day.  Paulina Gal finished 1st in the 300m hurdles, 1st in the discus, 2nd in the shot put, and 6th in the long jump.  Mackenzie Mellenthin finished 3rd in the discus.  Ashlie Wiechec finished 4th in the triple jump, 5th in the long jump, and 6th in the 100m hurdles   Nicole Maier finished 5th in the 3200m run.

Girls compete hard in extreme cold conditions with personal bests

Country Club Hills, IL  (April 9, 2013).  The girls competed hard last night in extreme conditions at Hill Crest, beating Southland, but losing to Hill Crest and Shepard.  It was a very close finish, with Shepard scoring 92, Hill Crest scoring 84, and Reavis scoring 79.  The girls should be very proud of their competition results.  Nicole Maier finished 1st in the 3200m, Ashlie Wiechec finished 1st in the high jump, 3rd in the long jump, 3rd in the triple jump, and 3rd in the 100m hurdles.  Paulina Gal finished 1st
