Burbank, IL (October 9, 2010) - The girls' tennis team certainly got Homecoming Saturday rolling when they won the SSC Red conference tournament earier today. All of the Rams' players finished in third place or higher, helping the team outlast second-place Argo.
Taking first place were Kayla Mangiapane and Nicole Kowalczyk at #1 doubles, Jenny LoRusso and Sam Mangiapane at #2 doubles, and Joanna Sochacka and Liz Weiler at #3 doubles. Sophomore Phan Le finished second at #2 singles and Ali McCafferty placed third at #1 singles. The win capped off an undefeated conference season for Reavis.
For head coach Sue Sprovieri, who has been at the helm since 2000, this is her fourth conference title and her first since 2008. "Everyone did what they were supposed to do," she said, "and they came to win today. These girls are the harding working team on the Southside!"
