Bolingbrook, IL (February 7, 2011) - The Rams competed in the IHSA Regional Saturday at Bolingbrook High School. Three wrestlers, Josh Arnold (3rd Place at 103 lbs.), Brian Taraszka (2nd Place at 112 lbs.), and Kevin Trujillo (2nd Place at 125 lbs.) advanced to next week's sectional at Downers Grove North.
Head Coach Eric Novak was very pleased with the performance of his sectional-qualifying trio. "All three worked extremely hard throughout the year and will be prepared for the opportunity to reach the state meet."
In first-round sectional match-ups Arnold will wrestle freshman Tyler Svestka from West Chicago, Taraszka will take on sophomore Pat Martin from Dekalb, and Trujillo will wrestle senior Jon Williamson from Naperville Central. The top four finishers at each weight will advance to state.
Four Reavis wrestlers, including Sam Almousa, Saned Soheil, Yusif Ismael, and Eduardo Marquez placed fourth at the regional and will also take the trip to the sectional as alternates.
As a team, Reavis finished fifth behind Nequa Valley, Bolingbrook, Brother Rice, and Oswego.
