The varsity Rams opened their season on Tuesday night against the Warriors of Willowbrook & the Chargers of Stagg. The varsity Rams have a new look this year with only four of thier starters having prior experience at the varsity level. The Rams dropped a tough dual to Willowbrook 47-13. Highlights were a decision from Jose Ponce 195 lbs., a major decision by Captain Sam Almousa 138 lbs., and a 1st period fall from Tino Arbaca 106 lbs. After dropping their first meet of the year the Rams were in another big hole to Stagg. After six weights the Rams trailed 27-0 but then the Rams rattled off six straight wins. Tino Arbaca had a decision at 106, Kyle Galason also recorded a decision at 120 lbs., and Sam Almousa cam up big with a 2nd period Fall. Entering the last match the Rams trailed 31-30 in team points. Aladdin Ismail 152 lbs. pulled out a tough decision 2-1 to give the Rams their 1st team victory of the season 33-31. Great team effort boys.
