Tim Smith Day at Czarnecki Field

Burbank, IL
The Reavis baseball program is honoring former Ram player and coach, Tim Smith, before Thursday's game against Oak Forest. Smith, a stand-out catcher/outfielder for the Rams from 1968-71, went on to play collegiately at Knox College, before returning to Reavis to coach along side legendary skipper Ron Czarnecki. He hung up his coaching shoes in 1994 when he became athletic director, but he always remained close to the baseball program. He was instrumental in the push to have the field named for Czarnecki in 1997 and over-saw the renovations of the field in 2004. Currently the Assistant Superintendent of Facilities and Grounds, Smith, known around Burbank as Mr. Reavis, will be retiring in July.
