Paint the Gym Purple Night

Burbank, IL - On Friday, January 21, the boys’ and girls’ basketball programs will be playing Oak Lawn in the annual Paint the Gym Purple Night.  This event, which is part of American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, helps raise money for cancer research.

The goal of Paint the Gym Purple Night is to have all fans from both Oak Lawn and Reavis wear purple Relay for Life t-shirts.  The athletic department will be selling these t-shirts for $8 and anyone who wears the shirt to the game will get free admittance into the gym.  The proceeds of the shirt sales will be donated to the American Cancer Society-Free Throws for the Cure.

The varsity girls’ game will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity boys’ game will tip off at 7:00 p.m.  Also, throughout both games, some lucky fans from Reavis and Oak Lawn who are wearing purple shirts will be chosen to participate in games/contests.  Finally, there will be performances by the dance team and the cheerleaders at halftime of the boys’ game .

To make room for the varsity girls, the boys’ sophomore game against Oak Lawn will be played at Oak Lawn on Thursday, January 20, at 6:00 p.m.
