Soccer Boys

Phil Basile

Coach Basile has been teaching and coaching at Reavis since 2006 working with both the boys and girls programs.  He attended Providence Catholic High School where he played soccer and wrestled.  Afterwards, Coach Basile attended Saint Xavier University where he played on the men’s soccer team.  While at SXU he earned his BA in Studio Art and then went on to earn his Master’s in Secondary Education.  Outside of teaching and coaching he plays in a men’s soccer league, and is training for marathon running.

John Larocca

John started teaching  at Crete – Monee High School in 1990. He coached basketball and football for two years.  Then he started coaching and teaching at Reavis High School.  John coached boys basketball and girls softball.  He has been coaching boys soccer at Reavis since 2005. Larocca is currently the Sophomore Head Coach, in his seasons with the Rams he has won over 150 games and the programs conference championships in 2009, 2012, & 2104. John attended Homewood – Flossmoor High School and played basketball and soccer for all four years.

Jim Ward

Coach Ward has been around Reavis soccer since 1997 and has coached Boys Freshmen, Sophomore,  and Varsity teams. He headed the girls program from 1998-2008. Jim was awarded Reavis Coach of the Year in 2002 and IHSSCA Section 13 Assistant Coach of the Year in 2008.  Jim earned his Bachelor’s of Science at Illinois State University holds Master degrees from Chicago State University, Lewis University and Olivet Nazarene University.  He works as a Industrial TechnologyTeacher and Summer School Principal at Reavis High School. Favorite Reavis Soccer Moment:  There are many to choose from.
