Reavis Heats Up in the Cold vs Kennedy

After a grueling Tuesday quad with cross town rivals Oak Lawn the Rams rebounded with a solid performance from top to bottom on Thursday. The icy wind slowed some times; not even a strong tailwind could push the sprinters to new personal bests. That didn&;t stop the Rams from piling up 86 and 75 points on the Frosh/Soph and Varsity levels.

Individual event winners for the varsity were Pedro Santos (disc), Nick Solis (shot), Mohannad Abu Nijmeh (long jump), Isaac Wheadon (100,200,400). Mike Amashta (3200), Dan Marin (1600), and Marco Almanza (800).

"I&;m very pleased to get out of that meet pretty healthy and with a win," added head coach Matt Moran. "Bad weather and a dual could have easily been a trap meet but our guys toughed it out and have a win to show for it. I hope this provides some momentum as we start the last month of our competitive phase of the season."

Taking home first place on the Frosh/Soph level were Dennis Trujillo (400, 1600), Johnny Almanza (3200), Kevin Lungu (800), Kevin Boss (200), Khalid Smith (high jump, triple jump), and Elmer Carrillo (shot, disc).

The next time the Rams take the track will also be their last home meet of the season. We will honor our Seniors before the meet begins this Tuesday, April 19th.
