Strong Start in Season Opener

The Rams were led by Senior Pedro Santos winning the shot put with a personal best throw of 42&;5. The Rams also swept the high jump with Sophomore Khalid Smith taking first, Joe Pauletic 2nd, and Dan Herlihy finishing 3rd in his first ever track meet.

David Palac started off the season well with a 2nd place finish in the 3200m run. Palac was followed by Zack Carlson who finished 4th.

The Rams relay teams (4x160, 4x400) provided lots of excitement in many of the runners&; first ever competition in track. Despite some shaky handoffs, the Rams battled every step of the way.

"This is arguably the most fun I&;ve ever had at this meet," stated head coach Matt Moran. "I was looking for effort, sportsmanship, being a good teammate, for our seniors to step up and lead our guys out on the track and I saw all of those things, and some more. I&;m very pleased with how this team responded."

The Rams will take the track this week at home for their Blue/White scrimmage. The next meet won&;t take place until March 31st when the Rams travel to Andrew High School for a three level invite.
