October 30, 2015. (Colorado). Jessica Watychowicz, a Reavis graduate, is still running strong as she is training for the Olympic trials. She has been living and training in Colorado the past few months learning to adjust to the different altitudes. She is shooting to qualify for the Olympic Trials in the half marathon. She ran this weekend in Philadelphia after only seven weeks hard core training and ran a 1:15.51 for the half marathon. Qualifying standards is 1:15:00. Not bad for the FIRST time running the half marathon, being that she was only off the standard by 51 seconds (which is roughly, 4 seconds per mile). Jessica informed me that she was among the elite women (finishing in the top 25 for the elite corral of women). She is running another half marathon in January in Houston---cut those 51 seconds off!
