Oak Lawn, IL (March 31, 2011) - The girls track team started their outdoor season Tuesday night at Richards. The team beat Richards and Oak Forest, but lost a close on to TF North. The shot put powerhouses of Stephanie Verduzco and Yari Lopez finished 1-2. Nicole Maier, Diane Simmons, Emily Phillips, and Caroline Cywrus finish an outstanding 1-2-3-4 finish in the 3200m. Maggie Wojtowicz finished 2nd in the 1600m, while Hannah Howard finished 3rd in the 1600m. Kelley Grzych finished 3rd in the 100m hurdles and 2nd in the high jump. Yari Lopez also finished 2nd in the discus. The 4x800m relay team of Hannah Howard, Erica Seno, Karolina Komperda, and Michelle Lewellen also finished an impressive 1st place. Great start to our outdoor season. Not only did they battle Richards, Oak Forest, and TF North, but they battled the 35 degree weather. Keep up the good work!
