Burbank, IL (April 12, 2011) Senior Yari Lopez wins DISCUS, while Frosh/Soph continue their dominance by beating Argo, Oak Lawn, and Evergreen Park by HUGE margins Tuesday night. Yari Lopez tossed a 94-4 discus throw, and gets fourth in the shot put. Also placing in the throws, Stephanie Verduzco (2nd in shot put) and Erika Fastwolf (5th in the shot put). Karolina Komperda finished 3rd in the high jump. Hannah Howard finished 3rd in the 3200m. The 4x800m relay team of Komperda, Howard, Sam Wolfe, and Erica Seno ran to an impressive 3200m relay.
The frosh/soph team beat Argo, Evergreen Park, and Oak Lawn last night. The scores were 129 to 69-11-28. Great job! The 4x800m relay team (M. Wojtowicz, M. Lewellen, E. Phillips, S. Bukowska) won and the 4x400m relay team (M. Lewellen, P. Gal, S. Christianson, A. Simmons) won with great times. Maggie Wojtowicz won the 3200m and the 1600m runs. Danielle Doyle won the shot put and discus. Kelley Grzych won the 100m hurdles and the high jump, and got 2nd in the 300m hurdles. Sam Christianson won the 400m and got 2nd in the 100m hurdles. Michele Lewellen won the 800m. Ashlie Wiechec won the long jump and got 2nd in the triple jump and high jump. Sabina Bukowska got 2nd in the 800m. Mackenzie Mellenthin got 2nd in the discus and 3rd in the shot put. Selena Carrillo got 3rd in the discus. Paulina Gal got 2nd in the long jump, while Amanda Kass got 3rd in the long jump. Jessica Alexander got 2nd in the 200m and 3rd in the 100m. Gabby Galica got 3rd in the 3200m.
