Morton, IL (March 14, 2015). Congrats to the girls track and field team for their achievements in their first meet at Morton West High School. The girls did a great job and will be competing again at Argo on Friday night. Outstanding performances included:
Varsity- Aleks Kamienska took 2nd with a throw of 33'11" and Julie Iazzetto took 6th with a throw of 27'11 1/2 in the Shot Put . Sylvia Kozielski took 3rd in the 55 m dash with a time of 7.18 sec, 6th in the 200 m dash with a time of 28.78, and 6th in the Triple Jump with a jump of 30'5". The varsity 4x160 relay team took 5th place.
JV- Auset Kheru took 2nd place in the High Jump with a jump of 4'8, 3rd place in the Shot Put with a throw of 28'8 1/2", and 4th in the 200m dash with a time of 29.04 sec. Christine Trovato took 4th in the 3200m run with a time of 14:44.12. The 4x80 and 4x800 relay teams both took 5th place.
