Girls track finish well at Stagg Invite

Palos Hills, IL  (March 31, 2012).  The Varsity girls finished 7th out of 14 teams Saturday at the Stagg Invite.  Sophomore Stephanie Verduzco led all scorers with a 2nd place finish in the shot put and a 1st place toss in the discus.  She threw a 98 foot, 4 inches which is a personal best for Stephanie.  Paulina Gal finished 3rd in the 300m hurdles and 4th in the shot put.  Erika Fastwolf finished 5th in the discus.  Sam Wolfe finished 6th in the 400m run.  Nicole Maier finished 5th in the 3200m run.  Kelley Grzych finished 5th in the high jump.  The 4x400m relay team of Sam Wolfe, Sam Christianson, Paulina Gal, and Hannah Howard finished 6th with a personal best time.  The 4x800m relay team of Hannah Howard, Sabina Bukowska, Sam Wolfe, and Michele Lewellen finished 4th place with a personal best time.  "The girls are truly showing much improvement running, throwing, and jumping so far this season," Coach Schoenfeld comments.  "Stephanie Verduzco is raking in the points with her awesome shot put and discus tosses.  I am especially proud of how the girls came together as a TEAM today.  Lastly, a shout out goes to the sprint girls for having much improvement in their exchanges for the relays they ran today!"
