Girls track and field team perform well in bitter cold

Burbank, IL  (April 10, 2012).  The girls battled the bitter cold at home with tons of points earned by both frosh/soph and varsity athletes.  Although HillCrest and Shepard both beat Reavis, your Rams battled well and competed well against these tough teams.  The 4x800m relay team of Hannah Howard, Sam Wolfe, Sabina Bukowska, and Michele Lewellen battled to a 2nd place finish, as well as the 4x400m relay team of Hannah Howard, Sam Wolfe, Sam Christianson, and Paulina Gal.  Nicole Maier had a respectful day with a 2nd place finish in the 3200m and 1600m as well as Stephanie Verduzco who finished 2nd in the shot put and 2nd in the discus.  Kelley Grzych finished 2nd in the 100m hurdles.  Ashlie Wiechec finished 3rd in the 100m hurdles and 3rd in the triple jump.  Jessica Alexander finished 3rd in the 100m and 3rd in the 200m.  Michele Lewellen finished 3rd in the 800m.  Erika Fastwolf finished 3rd in the discus.  Mackenzie Mellenthin did an outstanding job at the frosh/soph level, as she finished 1st in the shot put and 1st in the discus.  Jenn Chavez finished 1st in the 3200m.  Sabrina Laskowski finished 2nd in the 800m and 2nd in the high jump.  Leann Kanka finished 2nd in the 3200m.  Ashley Simmons finished 2nd in the 400m.  Julie Iazzetto finished 2nd in the discus.
