Girls Track and Field perform well with personal bests at Argo

Summit, IL (April 14, 2012).  On Saturday, the girls competed at Argo High School, where the team finished 7th out of 12 teams.  Stephanie Verduzco had a day full of personal bests.  She threw 34-2 in the shot put to finish 2nd and then threw a 105-3 in the discus to finish 3rd.  Paulina Gal finished 3rd in the 300m hurdles with a personal best time and then threw the shot put to a 4th place finish.  Nicole Maier finished 5th in the 3200m run with a personal best time.  The 4x800m relay team of Hannah Howard, Sabina Bukowska, Sam Wolfe, and Michele Lewellen ran an AWESOME race, and finished 5th with a great time of 10:32.  The 4x400m relay team of Sam Wolfe, Sam Christianson, Paulina Gal, and Hannah Howard finished 6th.  Ashlie Wiechec had a great 100m hurdle race by qualifying in the final heat, and Kelley Gryzch had a great high jump result.  "When the girls compete with this much intensity and compete at a level where personal bests are becoming common--it is just awesome!" Coach Schoenfeld comments.  "Verduzco finishing 2nd-3rd and Gal finishing 3rd-4th in their events-- crazy.  The 4x800m relay team is just running out of their mind!  So many things to be proud of...and I hope the girls want to continue this high."
