51st Reavis Relays ends successfully with a SECOND place finish

Burbank, IL  (April 25, 2013).  At the 51st annual Reavis Relays last night, the girls team did a fantastic job, as they finished 2nd place overall out of 9 teams.  This is one of the highest finish in about 15 years.  YES---2nd place!  The meet started on a high note by honoring our seniors: Sam Christianson, Kelley Grzych, Nicole Maier, Emily Phillips, Ashlie Wiechec, and Maggie Wojtowicz and their wonderful parents.  The 3x100m hurdles race of Amanda Kass, Ashlie Wiechec, and Kelley Grzych dominated the relay with a win.  The high jump relay team of Ashlie Wiechec, Kelley Grzych, and Sabrina Laskowski won by a mere two inches.  The discus relay team of Paulina Gal, Mackenzie Mellenthin, and Leann Kanka also had a great showing and won.  The shot put relay team of Paulina Gal, Mackenzie Mellenthin, and Julie Iazzetto finished an impressive 2nd place.  The long jump relay team of Ashlie Wiechec, Paulina Gal, and Sylvia Kozielski jumped to a 2nd place finish.  The distance relay team of Michele Lewellen, Sam Christianson, Laura Monsreal, and Stephanie Majewski also had a 2nd place finish.  The 3x1600m team of Nicole Maier, Sabina Bukowska, and Maggie Wojtowicz blazed to a tough 2nd place finish.  The 4x800m relay team of Paulina Marusarz, Jocelyn Acosta, Jenny Vasquez, and Sabina Bukowska had a 4th place finish.  Another 4th place finish was from the sprint medley team of Sylvia Kozielski, Ashlie Wiechec, Sam Christianson, and Michele Lewellen.  The 4x100m Weightwomen relay team of Julie Iazzetto, Mackenzie Mellenthin, Paulina Gal, and Leann Kanka did their job with a 4th place finish.  The 4x400m relay team of Ashley Simmons, Sam Christianson, Alex Malmborg, and Michele Lewellen finished 5th.  Great job to all the Rams for helping with such a SUCCESSFUL Reavis Relays.  THANK YOU.
