Palos Heights, IL (April 5, 2014). At the Stagg Invite Saturday, the Varsity team finished 5th place out of 15 teams. Senior Paulina Gal won the shot put (with a new meet record throw) and won the discus (with a new meet record throw). She also finished 2nd in the 800m. Most importantly, Paulina broke the Reavis school record in the 300m hurdle (:48.3) race with a time of :48.17, which placed her 3rd overall. Coach Schoenfeld commented, "Paulina does what she does with such a raw talent and she always competes to win! She is breaking records left and right...and she has only ran the 300m hurdles twice this season...BOTH times with little rest after her 800m run." Coach Schoenfeld continues, "She is well on her way of great success again this season." The meet's success continued with senior Mackenzie Mellenthin finished 3rd in the discus and 6th in the shot put. Our stand out sophomore sprinter Sylvia Kozielski finished an impressive 4th place in the 200m dash.
