Blue Island, IL (May 12, 2014). The Varsity team finished 3rd overall at the SSC Red Conference meet held at Eisenhower, while the Frosh/Soph team finished 4th overall. Senior Paulina Gal had an outstanding night, as she won and earned All-Conference in three individual event. She threw new SSC Red meet records in the discus and shot put, with 129-2.5 and 40-3 respectfully. Paulina then came back and won the 800m, giving her the 3rd All-Conference victory. She had a great race in the 300m hurdle race, earning a 3rd place finish. Amanda Kass and Kate Mendoza finished 4th and 5th respectively in the 100m hurdles. Sabina Bukowska finished 4th in the 1600m, while Laura Monsreal finished 6th. In the 3200m, Stephanie Majewski finished 2nd, while Laura Monsreal finished 4th. Mackenzie Mellenthin finished 3rd in the discus and 4th in the shot put. Tara Rojas finished 5th in the high jump. Sylvia Kozielski finished 4th in the triple jump. Alex Malmborg finished 6th in he 400m. The 4x800 relay team (Sabina Bukowska, Yoyo Olivares, Jenny Vasquez, and Paulina Marusarz) and the 4x400 relay team (Alex Malmborg, Jenny Vasquez, Sara Litlnad, and Minerva Diaz) finished 3rd. For the Frosh/Soph team, Aleksandra Kamienska had a great day, as she won both the discus and shot put. She also broke the SSC Red Conference Frosh/Soph record in the shot put. Christine Trovato finished 3rd in the 3200m and 4th in the 1600m. Briana Jones finished 3rd in the 400m and 5th in the 100m. Kathy Juchas and Olivia Olivo finished 3rd and 4th respectively in the 100m hurdles. Nicole Bochenski finished 4th in the 300m hurdles and 6th in the high jump. Yazmin Urteaga finished 2nd in the shot put and 5th in the discus. The 4x400m relay team (Olivia Olivo, Joy Magana, Briana Jones, and Rachel Quiroz) finished 3rd place overall.
