Willow Springs, IL (May 16,, 2014). The Girls Track and Field team finished an amazing 4th place at the IHSA Sectional meet at Lyons. Paulina Gal amazed everyone by qualifying in THREE events. She finished 1st in the shot put, 1st in the discus, and 2nd in the 300m hurdles. This is unheard of in track and field. Mackenzie Mellenthin qualified in the discus by finishing 2nd place. Both girls qualified for the second year in a row. There were other point scorers for the Rams. Alex Kamienska finished 5th in the shot put. Amanda Kass finished 5th in the 100m hurdles. The 4x800m relay team of Sabina Bukowksa, Yoyo Olivares, Jenny Vasquez, and Paulina Marusarz finished 4th place. The 4x400m relay team of Joy Magana, Breanna Jones, Jenny Vasquez, and Sara Litland finished 6th place. Good luck to Paulina and Mackenzie as they compete at EIU next weekend.
