Girls Track compete well at Hinsdale
(March 1, 2018). Girls competed at Hinsdale and faired well against a team that is quite competitive. Highlights of the meet: Nadia Roberts won the high jump with a 5-0 jump and got 2nd in the 1600 with a great starting time.
Reavis Opening at Argo Indoor
Summit, IL (Feb. 24, 2018). Rams open up their season at Argo Indoor Saturday. Sophomore Nadia Roberts started off the day by winning the high jump with a 4-9 jump. Very impressive since we do not practice the high jump here ar Reavis due to no indoor pit. Senior Jenna Rapp did well also in the 55 m hurdles by finishing 4th place overall. Senior Karolina Styrczula earned 4th place in the 600m run. The Varsity 4x400m relay gave us an exciting race with Karolina Styrczula, Johnna Baniewicz, Nadia Alpuche, and Jenna Rapp giving it their all for their team. Great start Lady Rams!
Third place at Reavis Relays
The night started out great for the Rams as Jenna Rapp, Yasmin Gonzalez, and Aneta Stoch won the 3x100m hurdle race. The high jump relay team of Auset Kheru, Nadia Roberts, and Ally Malmborg won the high jump relay. Auset Kheru, Aneta Gal, and Yaz Rios also won BOTH the shot put relay and the discus relay! Incredible! The 4x400m relay team of Auset Kheru, Karolina Styrczula, Jocyln Ordonez, and Johnna Baniewicz captured a 2nd place. Th3 3x1600m relay team of Christine Trovato, Esmeralda Flores, and Jenn Ramirez finished 3rd.
Reavis beat out Argo, but just misses Oak Lawn
The Girls Track and Field team beat out Argo, but just gets nipped by Oak Lawn at Tuesday's meet at Oak Lawn. Esmeralda Flores won the 3200m run. Aneta Stoch and Jenna Rapp finish 1-2 in the 100m hurdle race, while they finish 1-3 in the 300m hurdle race. Karolina Styrczula won the 400m in a personal best time, while Auset Kheru finished 3rd. The 1600m run had Christine Trovato finishing 2nd, while Esmeralda Flores finished 4th. Joy Magano finished 4th in the 100m, while Bre Jones finished 4th in the 200m.
Frosh Soph shine at Shepard F/S Invite
Frosh Soph team finish 10th out of 17 teams at the Shepard F/S Invite. Nadia Roberts was the star as she cleared 4-10 in the high jump and finished 1st place. Madison Simpson finished 6th in the shot put, Anna Babicz finished 5th inn the discus.
Richards Invite success with 3rd place finish
The Girls Track and Field team finish 3rd place out of 8 teams Friday at Richards. Christine Trovato finished 2nd in the 3200m run and 6th in the 1600m. Jenna Rapp finished 3rd in the 100m hurdles and 3rd in the 300m hurdles. Auset Kheru finished 1st in the 400m, shot put, and the high jump. Yaz Rios finished 2nd in the shot put and 2nd in the discus. Nadia Roberts finished 4th in the high jump. Johnna Baniewicz finished 6th in the 400m. Karolina Styrczula jumped to a 4th place finish in the long jump.
Rams have success at Geneva Invite
The Rams did a great job at the Geneva Invite, which is a new invitational for us. The team finished 4th out of 10 teams. The highlight of the meet was when Auset Kheru tossed a beautiful discus 123 feet and 8 inches--obviously winning the discus event. Yaz Rios also finished 3rd in the discus, while Aneta Gal finished 5th. Great points received in this event. Auset Kheru also finished 3rd in the shot put. Freshman Nadia Roberts jumped a personal best 4 feet, 9 inches in the high jump, finishing 3rd place.
